Use Outlook Mobile Service

Use Outlook Mobile Service (OMS) to easily send text messages from Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 to a mobile phone. Learn some key basics so that you can use OMS to get the most from Outlook, even when you’re on the go.

After completing this course you will be able to:

  • Verify that your Outlook Mobile Service account has been set up.
  • Use Outlook to send a new text message or to forward an existing message, contact, or appointment to any mobile phone that supports text messaging.
  • Configure your mobile options so that OMS will forward messages, reminders, or a summary of your daily calendar right to your own mobile phone, automatically.

This course includes:

  • One self-paced lesson and one practice session for hands-on experience. Practices require Outlook 2007.
  • A short test at the end of each lesson; tests are not scored.
  • A Quick Reference Card you can take away from the course.

Outlook Mobile Service lets you send text messages from Outlook to any mobile phone that supports text messaging. Doing this is as easy as typing a phone number into the To box of a message.

This course assumes that you have already signed up for Outlook Mobile Service. For more information about wireless service providers in your region who support OMS, and to sign up, see the "Before you begin" section of this page.
